  • Funny, I hear the wobble as well and in other roles such as Tosca. But when she sang in a concert in 2010 and sang Rusalka, it was quite lovely. I just think she needs to stick to more lyric rep. This is a tad heavy for her.

  • @kgarmaker123 nobody sings the d flat like leontyne price though. it just takes flight.

  • she cancelled all her performance of butterfly in London

  • OMG! Her vibrato is driving me nuts! I hope she's just having a bad day ...

  • I feel sad when I hear this and read the comments because Patricia Racette really is a WONDERFUL singer. And an equally good actress. This simply isn't an indication of how she normally sings (my opinion is based on youtube clips and having heard her sing Butterfly once early this year- she was flawless then). I wonder how much being filmed and feeling under huge pressure to act for a camera takes a toll on singers? I bet a lot of these vocal problems could be put down to that!

  • She's surrounded by drag queens, isn't she? She's a fine actress, but too wild vocally

  • I guess she was tired here. It sounds a little wobbly. Anyway, she sang well every time I heard her in the past.

  • Lots of motion and under pitch singing.. in this too... Wow.. This is a vibrato.. After I heard the first note.. I knew there would not be a high d flat.. No possible way .. she has one.. .. not with this vocal technique.

  • Wher e are the overtones? I find hers to be a restless voice that cannot convey the beauty of the Puccini line.

  • I was sure when i heard the first note that there would be NO D flat.. This boice is being pushed with air.. The greatest Butterflies.. Freni, Moffo, even Callas all took the d flat..
