  • yeh , we had a brief "rockabilly" phase somewhere between rockin roll & punk.the stray cats started off in my home town in a local dive, that i would say " i frequently"frequented .then there was robert....we followed both bands everywhere & was always on the guest list.oh to be young again.....

  • @ginger10359 GREAT!!!!!

I know the Stray Cats were inspired by RG.You've got some wonderful memories!

  • back in the 80s, during our "rockabilly" phase. my bf & i were major robert gordon groupies.at that time he was mostly playing small venues & clubs.we followed him all over long island, manhattan , jersey & the five boroughs.after like the first 5 shows we were always on the guest list & invited back stage.oh to be young again....

  • @ginger10359

I was in the front row for his Solo/RCA debut (Rock Billy Boogie) tour back in 1979 at the Palladium in NYC.A few years later I managed to get backstage and a limo ride with RG when Danny Gatton played lead guitar for him while touring for the 'Are you gonna be the one' album. In other words,I,like you,am a big fan from way back.

  • captain America : Your videos of Robert gordon are absolutely the best ive heard.

  • I remember one year .. Fabian sang this on someones show and the girls went wild..esp when he says...turn me loose! :) The girls in this audience are more subdues>)

  • @ginger10359 You folks had a rockabilly "Phase?" I guess it's a terminal disease for me! Yet, Robert does have a much wider range of styles; and an amazing voice.

  • Song written for elvis but give later to Fabian. I guess 1959.

  • "Your videos of Robert Gordon are absolutely the best I've heard."

    What he said.

  • I remember him well, and he can still sing...even after all this time!!!

  • Go RB! Have loved ya for a long time!
