Although I painstakingly try to make the action and sound, synchronous in my videos...
there are variations in the time-space (audio-visual) continuum which are not present in the original file, prior to uploading. Despite the inaccuracies, I can't help thinking what wonderful opportunity YouTube and today's technology provides. I remember when what we do here, could only have been a dream.
nose hair: Initially my thought was, frame a scene with a stationary camera, shoot footage of myself moving around within the frame and, through the editing process, set the more visually interesting compositions I had captured to an original score.
My approach to the shoot was a bit like automatic writing. After I'd framed an interesting back ground, I didn't think about what I was doing...I just did it. You can never have too much footage. The final frames came from about an hour's worth of shoot.
While editing, my focus was the time-space relationship. No thought was given to any plot, theme or message. On a primal level, and from an addictive personality perspective, I'd have to say most of my work is masturbation substitute. The sublimation is not as good as sex, but it is self-gratifying and better than going blind.
Ultimately, through my creative process, part of my psyche is stamped onto what becomes the finished piece. That's what I call the "cranialpurge". I myself, do not know what the purge is going to be until I kick up my feet and take a look at what I've made.
Nor is the message always immediately revealed. That's an emotional/intellectual process.
Here's what I've got, so far...
We are older than we were when you started reading this. Moments become a lifetime. Tiny little increments that hopefully add up to wisdom. Occasionally, I will the hands of time to move backward. The hands of time do not heed my will. Our consciences exist at the same time, apparently. We've no choice in that. Through the medium I'll call "YouTube", moments of our consciousness occupy the same space, but not necessarily at the same time.
I visit the channels of virtually everyone who comments on my videos.
So, you're looking at me but I'm looking at you, too.

That's what I hoped to achieve.
Finally, for those of you who won't be satisfied without an actual nose hair...

My right nostril.
There it is...lit up like a Roman candle.
So much, for subtlety.
