  • When I was a kid, the father of one of my classmates worked at Channel 10 & we got to go tour the studio. Rick Shaw came out & said hi to us & our young teaching intern about passed out from the excitement of meeting him.

  • @Cruzn442 What was the name of the person that worked at CH 10? Send PM if you desire.

  • I remember this show too. If memory serves, the "Birdwatchers" were a regular, sort of, "house band"----saw groups such as "The Music Machine" and a few others. somehow I also remember a video of a very cute girl dancing to Santana,s "Oye Como Va, maybe because Rick couldn,t book the band, but wanted to use the song on that show. ---no band, but a girl is good!

  • Geh hed! Thanks for this one, conkyjoe! I did not even know this one was here.

  • I remember watching that show on the weekday mornings before I would head out to Boca High in '65! The Birdwatchers were regulars, too. As well, I'd say that this was likely the forerunner to music videos. Rick recently retired, but back then, especially, he was the greatest! He and Roby Yonge. And let's not forget the "Tigers Dens!!!"

  • Hello Rick. I was a little boy who witnessed the filming of the Venetian Pool opening. I watched you and your crew. I stared silently, in awe, at our local history maker.

  • Boy does this bring back memories of my high school years

  • Rick Shaw was a DJ at WQAM in Miami when the Beatles arrivedd in 64

  • The picture quality of early videotape is so distinctive...coupled with a less-than-fabulous black & white small-screen TV set, it's a wonder we could recognize what we were looking at back in those years.

  • Thanks for the memory here. I was 5 and remember watching this show
