"Channel Surfer," a series of reflective comedies from Mike Yndestad, has completed principal cinematography, and is in the final stages of editing. These independent movies are scheduled to premiere to the public very soon, and are presently under going test screenings in the Midwest of the USA. "Channel Surfer" was primarily shot in Chicago, with some of the footage shot in Mexico. The more than 70 cast and crew members all live in the Chicagoland area. Director Mike Yndestad describes "Channel Surfer" as a "Virtual Surfin' Safari." "The Episodes comment on society's obsession with television. It is a satirical look at both the future and the past of American TV viewing," he said. The movie shorts spoof various television show genres such as: science fiction shows, police dramas, westerns, game shows, talk shows, and commercials. The satire points out some of the absurdity of television viewing, which makes stronger the film's social commentary, Yndestad said.
