Capitol of Texas in Austin - Representative's Chamber

The house of Representative's Chamber is the largest room in the Texas State Capitol. The 150 members of the House of Representatives meet in this room to make the laws of the state, just as they did in 1888. The furniture and style of the room is authentic, as well.

This room is located on the 2nd floor of the Capitol, in the west wing.

There's a good bit of artwork in this legislative chamber. Some of the paintings date back over 100 years. And behind the speaker's desk, you'll see the original flag from the 1836 Battle of San Jacinto
