  • I think the most depressing part of this game is that it has already been made, and we shall never see another like it.

  • I really don't mind the graphics, and I only just got this game a year ago. The only thing that I wish could be added is an "extended" voice patch. Maybe I'm just spoiled with modern games having everything voiced, but I would easily pay another 60 $ extra for such a patch alone. Heck, I would throw in my house for it as well.

  • @Marcusianery To each their own :). Dungeon Siege 3 I was really let down with, but then, I have been with all bar the 1st. I like a decent story in games which is why I enjoyed DA2. Granted, I would have preferred it to be more like the first, but they focussed it in one place giving a more involved feel to the story. At least that's how I felt about it :).

It's not exactly game of the year, but I found it worth £30 :). Took me about 40 hours too, so it wasn't scrimping.

  • @Amycus89 Unfortunately, or in someways fortunately, there are over 800,000 lines of text in the game. Considering the amount in most modern games, to do it justice would cost far too much. Especially for a game that no one is going to pay them for anymore. Would be good to see how it turned out though for the die hard fans :)

  • @Grigeral Dragon Age 2 is inferior sadly. It tried to be more action oriented, Failed hard versus Witcher 2 and Dungeon Siege 3 by Obsidian, hack n slash RPG had bigger plot twists and consquences in the ending then Dragon Age 2 had...if you look for an action RPG, sure sure, Dragon Age 2 works but if you look for something liek Dragon Age Origins. forget it. I for one, hold Witcher 2 in high regard and Dragon Age 2...well, I cannot support it. But its good someone likes it I guess :)

  • @Marcusianery Actually, it focussed on telling a story... I got through the whole DA2 story without having sex with any of the characters.

If you look at a game and try to see only negatives, you will find only negatives.

I was playing games strongly when the Infinity Engine games were released and thanks to GOG have bought them all for what must be the fourth (and last I guess) time... I love them, but I still like the modern games, including DA2.

    Don't get stuck on nostalgia!

  • @FinalBrick

Dragon Age 2 is a hersey to once have been the "gaming series who is the spiritual successor to Baldurs gate"....that was said in release of Dragon Age : Origins. Dragon Age 2 might be fun, but it's a shallow RPG with the focus on stupid sex and shit jokes where the creator think we as players are stupid and cannot handle options. .

  • @FinalBrick heh, sometimes I wish I could just remove my memory of all these epic RPGs, Planescape Torment, Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, and experience the wonder of playing the for the first time again :)

  • "Belief damned a woman, whose heart clung to the hope that another loved her when he did not."

  • @Evilmonkey66699 I mostly agree, but unlike most of the internet I actually liked Dragon Age 2. I enjoyed what I thought was an unconventional, morally grey conflict even if the combat was simplified and the environments repetitive. I guess I just liked that it worked on a more personal level than an epic one. Still, to each his own.

  • @FinalBrick sadly that seems to be the case, why have games that push the envelope and brake new ground like Baldur's gate, Ultima 7, Planescape, and so on when we can have cut scene ridden linear bore fests with uninteresting and often times unlikable characters and ridicules and nonsensical stories like Final Fantasy 13 and 13-2 or even brain dead crap like Dragon age 2 because who really want good deep games? when casual and consolfied crap is where the profits are.

  • this is one of the best pieces of art in gaming ever created. the only ones that come close are baldurs gate and ultima 7.
