As a lifetime fan of The Beach Boys, allow me to say 2 things here: 1. Bruce does a very nice job on this song, knowing as we all do that it was Carl's signature song. 2. Sadly, Carl & Dennis are gone. MY thanks & respect to Mike & Bruce, for keeping the music alive. Well done guys, & as a life time fan, I thank-you. Wolfsky9

@75DrummerBoy Brian WROTE the song. He has the right to sing it. He also doesn't go around calling himself The Beach Boys. If Mike Love had any class he would let the name rest in peace, but he knows nobody wants to go see "Mike Love". How would you feel if Ringo Starr decided he wanted to get a bunch of musicians together, go on tour and call it "The Beatles"?

Part time member? Bruce has been with the band so long he is an original. In fact he was there when Brian wasn't. The current line up IS!!! the Beach Boys no matter who is in the band. They perform the original songs like no other band they've ever toured with before. The arraignments sound just like the original recordings which they haven't in years!! Brain legally gave them the name! Your not a real Beach Boy fan since you don't like all configurations of the group so bye!!!!

@75DrummerBoy one original member and one part time member doesnt make them the beach boys dennis hated mike love so how would you know that he would have wanted them to carry on anyway brain WAS the the beach boys without him they would have been nothing

Who said anything about Mike being the lead singer on God Only Knows? I was referring to the comment no Carl no Beach Boys. Carl was a great singer but and sang lead on this song yes. He's dead nothing can be done about that. Mike and Bruce can't be expected to quit performing these songs that people love to hear because of that. The Beach Boys live on and I'm sure Carl and Dennis would have wanted it that way! The Beach Boys was a group effort not a one man show!!

This proves nothing Carl had a great voice the best. But what exactly are they supposed to do stop touring or stop singing this song when people still want to hear it? I think it's pathetic when so called Beach Boy fans bash this current line up because there are no Wilson's in the band. Brian sings lead on this very song I see nobody complaining about that!!

He definitely highly of Brian mentioning his cousin several times between songs when I saw the Beach Boys in 09. Bruce dedicated God Only Knows to Carl!!

More like Mike Love is the lead singer of the greatest band of all time The Beach Boys. The music and the harmonies would not have sounded the same without his voice!!!

@only4tsc Have you actually talked to Mike? He is one of the most caring, loving people in the world. I have no clue why people say bad things about him. He always speaks very highly of his cousins and is a positive force in society.
