Another original aircheck from the OG KDAY and Jesse Torrero on the air and everywhere. 'The Brown Beauty On Duty'. KDAY was a special place where few really were the original crew. Jesse is one of the Original KDAY 'Air Personalities' for almost ten years, that helped shape the Hip Hop & Rap radio and record business. Many will tell you they were there, but they were not. Rest assured this is the Original Brown Beauty On Duty, the real deal. Listen to a cut aircheck of his work and remember of those times long ago when you were younger, and the world was about to be changed forever by Greg Mac's vision, Jack Pattersons Direction, and Ed Kirby's leadership, along with great on air talent like Jesse and others.
With the resurgence of 93.5 KDAY in Los Angeles we can only hope that they will be sensitive enough to understand that only the original guys can do KDAY the KDAY way in L.A.. There is to much OG history, Be smart and bring back Jesse Torrero, Greg Mac, Russ Parr, Jack Patterson, Lisa Canning, Don Tracey, Mark Morganella, Rory Kaufman King News, Tony G and the Mix Masters, Hazze, Eddie La Flavour and the High Energy Mixers. Watch the love-fest start again between KDAY and all Los Angeles Radio listeners. You see it had never gone away, it was taken away by coorporate radio in 1991. Bring back the orignal crew and the KDAY WAY will live again in 2009/10. Enjoy, and more is coming!

But, let me tell you......the greatest time ever and most successfully fun time ever was at 'AM STEREO 1580 KDAY'...50,000 watts..baby! I have never been able to reproduce the popularity and excitment for myself...I tried to capitalize on it at KPWR (they would never hire me thanks to jeff Wyatt, Rick Cummings), Stevie Wonder anf Frankie Ross gave me a great opportunitity at KJLH for about three years, had a talk show on KMPC, had a little run at 92.3 FM Mega, and a few other stations, but ...

Jesse Torrero here...I was the second to last voice ever heard on 1580 KDAY....that day in 1991...JJ Johnson took us off the air to staic dark, and the death of the greatest radio station on the west coast 1580 KDAY. At that time Greg mack moved on to KJLH, Russ was gone to Dallas, but I was still there. I did not realize the significance of KDAY to my life and the industry as I was just living it fast and hard...the first 24/7 rap station in the world.......
