John Lennon said songs should be like news bulletins.

Highlands Magazine in France said of Beau's "Edge Of The Dark" CD (Angel Air SJPCD293) - "... his music makes the powerful gnash their teeth." ( "... sa musique fait grincer les dents des puissants.")

Heres a news bulletin:

The engines roar and finally the airplane leaves the ground,
Turning south towards the sun and he is homeward-bound.
He pulls the shade, and as the last of Scotland falls away
He sleeps the sleep of freedom on a fateful August day
When Secretary MacAskill turns justice on its tail
And Abdelbaset al-Megrahi says goodbye to Greenock Gaol.

The darkness falls as time is passing, slowly slipping by.
Drifting in and out of dreams, he hears a baby cry.
Somewhere he can hear some laughter, someone tells a tale.
The accents are so different to the ones in Greenock Gaol.
And then a stewardess is pulling gently at his sleeve;
"We're glad that you could make it, and that we were late to leave."

She offers up a whisky-sour; of course it is declined.
So different to the Greenock Gaol that he has left behind.
He asks how long hes been asleep and how long will it be
Before his flight to freedom will arrive in Tripoli.
Her puzzled look and quiet words destroy his need to talk;
"You boarded Pan Am 103, flying home for Christmas in New York."

And there are no more precious dreams of any victory;
The flight to freedom never will arrive in Tripoli.
His eyes are on the moving map, tormented by the time -
The plane is flying north and at the limit of its climb.
And even now the stewardess pulls gently at his sleeve;
"We're still so glad that you could make it, and that we were late to leave."
