Cluster Bombs Dropped in Syria

New evidence has emerged that the Syrian air force has used cluster munitions in recent days. Many of the strikes were near the main highway that runs through Ma`arat al-Nu`man, the site of a major confrontation between government and rebel forces this week.

I still doubt it that Syria is using cluster bomblets. Today media is full of propaganda now this days and its been going on for many decades. Even if Syria is using cluster bomblets, so what if Syria is using it. Russia, China, USA, Europe are still using it. Cluster bomblets is ok but I recommend President Assad use thermobaric bombs. When NATO used cluster bombs during the bombing of Serbia in '99.(and God knows where else), I don't remeber that someone says anything against that! They even throwing it on a family suburbs and refugee convoys! I don't justify this in Syria, but justice must to be equal for all. And many people and nations know for "western propagand",so I would not be surprised if this would be part of it. Even if it is true, if NATO can use cluster bombs against civilians, why Syrians can't against "rebels"?

Human rights watch has nothing to do with the Central Intelligence Agency. One is a humanitarian organization and the other is a government agency. There are plenty of videos coming out of syria that clearly show evidence that the government is using things like barrel bombs and artillery. If you think that the rebels are losing, you're going to be in for a big surprise in a few weeks to months.

Not really, this report is quite good and fits the pattern we have seen of an increasingly desperate and unstable regime resorting to more and more indiscriminate weapons as it destabilizes. We've already seen them using helicopter dropped barrel bombs and now we're seeing activity consistent with SCUD launches. Human rights watch isn't the one spreading lies here.
