There used to be an actual group called "The Redcoats" and they guest-starred in a Dick van Dyke episode (pretty funny too). This is at the end of the episode when Dick and Laura watch their show on TV. This SHOULD have been on youtube but it's wasn't. Shame, shame.

From the fourth season of Dick van Dyke, episode "The Redcoats are Coming".

  • Hello, all. I suspect the poster, Daniel Gardner, is fully aware that these two are Brit invasioners Chad Stuart & Jeremy Clyde ("Chad & Jeremy") & that "The Redcoats" was a made up name, clearly a parody of The Fab Four themselves on the Ed Sullivan Show in Feb, 1964. Jeremy C. had strong ambitions to be an actor which is why these two made so many guest appearances that called for some acting skills. Great show, great fun remembering the excitement of the musical British Invasion.

  • I love how the girls took off with half the living room furniture. That was funny.

  • Mel didn't work out the plan. The police did. Mel's only contribution to the plan was the password "Paul Revere". lol

  • If you watch the entire episode there is a scene where Fred starts saluting Mel too early. lol

  • This is NOT a group called The Redcoats :LOL they are a fictional group played by Chad & Jeremy

  • @ungmd21 And that.s the only comparison you can make !

  • I like the twin Gibson J-160e guitars they played. Just like the Beatles

  • arent these guys CHAD AND JERMEMY

  • Due to Jeremy Clyde's acting ambitions, Chad & Jeremy appeared on assorted sitcoms. It's GREAT having these films to remember a much simpler, more optimistic time. I show these clips to my children so they can see what high quality television looks like. Thanks for posting. Peace & Love to All.

  • They were cute boys and really funny on this episode.
