those where the last decent Cub Cadets Lawn tractors 2000 & 3000 series had metal grills, hoods that JD is ALL CHEAP PLASTIC !!

What do you mean it not a real Cub Cadet. I bought the LTX1040 last year. Where they bought out by someone. I've never heard of MTB. I can't complain about mine. Although i had an 8 hp ford, yes a Ford. All metal. I think it was from the 1970's. That tractor was a bit faster then the Cub. But i didn't get the Cub to race with. It mowed and pulled every bit as good as the cub. 8 hp Briggs & Statton vs. 19 hp Kohler. The gearing has alot to do with it.

I have a '71 narrow frame 147 that runs pretty fast but not as fast as my Sears custom 10XL. My Sears would blow these away so bad its not funny.

my 1971 jd 112 would pull either one of them all around the yard, that is really the purpose of a tractor, the ability to pull. who gives a shit how fast it goes

That was a Cub by MTD. That not a real Cub Cadet. I'm betting a 10 or 12 series Cub from the late 60's/ early 70's would smoke both of those mowers. As for an older John Deer I wouldn't know. But it would probably leave both of 'em too!
