Jeremy Meador owner of Charades Nostalgic Grille in Botetourt County arranged to have "Shave for the Brave" on Thursday, March 10th, 2011 at Modern Designs Hair Salon in Vinton, VA at 7:00pm. Jeremy's close ties with the group "Wish for a Hero" and a post from a 14 year old girl gave him the inspiration to have this event.
The idea was born in February when Jeremy Meador, founder of the 180 Hero's Foundation saw a wish posted on wishuponahero.com. The wish was by a 14 year old cancer patient that had vowed to shave her head to raise cancer awareness, she was calling it "Shave For The Brave". Touched by what he read, Meador reached out to his friends and asked for their support. What followed was a group of friends banding together to support a young girl thousands of miles away. Twelve (12) people shaved their head on 3/10/11 for "Shave the Brave and PhotoVirginia.com was there to photograph all of the event and meet these great people. The 12 people that shaved their head include Jeremy Meador, Patrick Williams, Joshua Lafferty, Ross Henry, Danny Cruff and son, Dan Vance, Fred Knapp, Brian Brabham, Ethen Robinson, Josh Glover and Justice Meador. It was a very moving experience for everyone there and you will see with all of the photos that from younger children to older adults did this. Thank you Jeremy and thank you to all that came out and did this. What a wonderful experience for everyone!!
