From RISK to ACTION: Women and HIV/AIDS in Ethiopia

Nearly 60% of HIV+ individuals in Ethiopia are women. Gender bias and the biology of transmission make women more vulnerable to infection. Poverty, lack of access to education, and violence against women increase their risk. This film profiles the connection between gender and HIV/AIDS, as well as the work of leaders in education and policy change to improve the status of women.

  • This is an excellent documentay!

Stay pro-active in your struggle to rise up and to become victorious over the spread of HIV/AIDS.

  • I agree with the girl the men should learn to wear condom as well.

  • The project is doing a great job.Prostitutes became prostitutes not to just make a living but to make a good living easily (200 per night..nowadays not even a university graduate can make that much). I don't think the project is helping if they are just teaching about the other way of making money, because there is none. When I say none I mean not a job with a good pay.

  • Compare the number of viewers between Part 1 and part 4. The difference is huge. What does it say about us? Your guess is my guess.

  • This is not a problem of one nation... it's every where in the world... even facing worse situation than ethiopia are like South Africa, Kenya, India and many nations... but for the virus infection there in NO even One Single Nation that is HIV/AID Free. Not one man. So we should support such organizations who brings out with nations with most situation. Next time think before you talk and i am talking to azuri111

  • wat a sick nation

  • I was just wondering how I could help this program?

  • Great job
