With 5 races left, 8 drivers will still eligible for a CART championship. But Danny Sullivan was leading the way with Al Unser Jr and Bobby Rahal not far behind. The race was amazing, as Danny Sullivan got his 2nd straight pole, a streak that would extend to 5 races at the end of the year. Overall the race, despite only one lead change, was very fun to watch and had a close finish (Any Road America race is) and this is a prime example of track that can help bring Indy Car racing back.

  • Thanks for the ReUL!

BTW, do you happen to have the 1983 RA race? If I'm not mistaken, it was the only IndyCar race ever televised by American Sports Cavalcade (or TNN in general, Spike TV DOES NOT COUNT).

  • @LMCMInterloper

oddly thats the only 83 one no one can seem to find, including me. I have half the races on tapes and the other half from the web, but Road America wasn't in either....

  • @TheKassicRock The only reason why I want to see that race is B/C (like I stated before) it's the only CART IndyCar race that American Sports Cavalcade or TNN ever did, and it be really neat to see exactly how Brock Yates and Steve Evans (RIP) would call an CART IndyCar race.

  • @LMCMInterloper

Yea, i think its an a extremly rare to find tape now.

I can give you a link for a racing trading site, someone may have it there....

  • Thanks for the upload...

  • @TheKassicRock Huh. That's funny, B/C MotorsportsHistoryTV has the intro and the start of that race on his account. Maybe you can ask him for his copy if he still has it and is willing to trade for it.
