http://www.PCRoger.com/go/vantec-usb-hdd-adapter/ - This short video shows how the Vantec USB hard drive adapter will allow you to easily connect and access data from almost any workstation hard drive. Useful for laptop data recovery or normal PC hard drive data recovery.

  • with the laptop hard drive - the power cable is being plugged into what?

  • @goonsmile If the laptop drive is IDE, then it's not needed

  • i got an adapter for my 2.5 hard drive, i connect it but then nothing on my comp pops up saying installing drivers bla bla

    what should i do?

    thanks

  • @moochy101 I don't know if you bought the Vantec one or not, some competing adapters are cheaper but have high failure rates. If Vantec, try the trouble shooting options on their website and contact them if it doesn't work.

If you have another PC to try it on, that would be a good idea also

  • I bought this cord the other day and i plugged in a sata harddrive and it made a clicking noise. Before i put it on it was working fine.It had windows loaded but windows was corrupt so i wanted to get the cord to format it first. Is it possible that the cord burned it out. And can you make a video on how to use it with a sata laptop drive thank you in advance.

  • @splinxes On my YouTube channel I have other videos under "Data Recovery". "How To Connect Laptop Hard Drive to PC for Diagnostics" connects a SATA drive, but it's really no different, just using the other cable.

  • i dont want to format my drive.. could you tell me how i could recover my data with the adapter.. everything is plugged in

  • @PunjabiMunda725 DON'T FORMAT if you want to recover data. Probably best to find a local expert. There are tools you can get online but always better to "learn" on a drive you don't care about.

  • ITS TELLING ME TO FORMAT MY DRIVE.. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

  • @PERSEVERANCESWORLD Try using the windows 7 x64 installation CD and run the the startup repair feature it's a good tool for non-booting operating systems works most of the time
