The odds are that if on a certain day a lot of people don't wear shoes, at least one person will ask why they aren't wearing shoes, which gives the barefoot person the opportunity to explain why they're barefoot and possibly bring another customer in who will buy a pair of shoes providing another person in another country with a pair of shoes.

the point of the barefoot day was so that we could understand what these poor children have to go through EVERY SINGLE DAY! Watch the toms shoes documentary and you will understand all of this, and probably end up with tears in your eyes because it it heart breaking what these kids have to go through.

those poor people don't have jobs with dress codes - walking barefoot in downtown America is more about getting personal attention. Do ANY of those poor barefoot girls ALSO receive $100 pedicures before showing their feet ? answer = NO.

Yeah nothing like going barefoot for a good cause. You should bring puke buckets with you at these events!!! Hey here's an idea, why don't you add firewalking or glasswalking to your One day without shoes event? I mean you're already barefoot!!! Put those feet to good use!! One day is nothing, why not start a 'one year without shoes' event to get a feel for what these kids expierence? Heck people in Hawaii go barefoot for days on end by choice.

Hot Damn...Walking around barefoot to raise awareness? No wonder people in other countries think we're the biggest dumbasses on earth. "OH Let me NOT wear shoes so I feel better about myself because I can tell other people about this cause and they'll join me. The people this supports will never know about it but who cares because I feel good about myself right?"

OH great How about going naked for those with no clothes ? None of these kids can AFFORD trendy foot massage PEDICURES - and will remain barefoot as more money was waisted on self congratulating advertisements and pedicures INSTEAD of quietly SENDING shoes.
