  • It's a 20. Still sounds good. PA engineers seem to like it too.

  • lol why didnt u install the kick port whilest you had the head off ???

  • Well, I just went by the instructions. It seems the protocol of fitting has changed since it was 1st put on the market. Look at the official site.

  • Sam- Jesse here again from KickPort International.

Great video and thanks!! Everybody here at our company really likes it. We also think very highly of Austin and his fine crew at Poole Percussion and glad you included information about the store in your video.

by the way... We just won a 'Best in Show' award at the Summer NAMM in Nashville last month.

    Thanks again and best regards,

    Jesse Bradman

  • Hey, Jesse - thanks for that!

I think I followed the instructions pretty well, but having seen your own YouTube clips I realize that keeping the skin on the drum makes it a quicker and easier job.

I'll leave my vid up in case anyone wants to do it 'the long way'!

Still enjoying using the KickPort. I get lotas of lovely comments about it's sound from audience and sound engineers!

  • and good job being a true drummer and using your spare beater to put it in.

  • the guy who invented it says leave the head on, put the ring on, cut the hole, put in the kick port. then use your palm to reseat the head. three minutes tops, and it works.

  • Or the easy way:

    - take the head of

    - put on the reinforcement ring and cut the hole

    - install the Kickport

    - put the head back on

    ;)

  • You didn't play the kick before you installed the KP . You only played it after. I wanted to see the difference.

  • Thanks for the info!!

  • Awesome product! Direct Music Supply carry us and Kickport. The really create quite the buzz at NAMM this year.

  • To all the people who say you don't need to take the head off: I've seen first hand that a bass drum head can split if you try to cut it while it's tensioned on the drum. Not a good idea...

  • fore future reference you should of peeled the template stuck it and used the template to cut the circle like a stencil

  • thats the bestest thing i ever seen !!!!!!

  • There is not necessary to remove the drumhead.

    The video is very good.
