@Richiesutherland Unbelievable!

Yes, the tenor was defintely Pavarotti, being his normal piggish self. A few nights later in Puritani, he did the worst thing. On the high C# of their act III duet, he had taken to hiding behind Joan. Well, on one particular night, not only did he hide, he put his enormous arm around her neck and accidentally choked her, which made her own C# (it was transposed down a half-step for HIM) go horribly flat. It was one of the few times I ever saw her get angry, and rightly so!!

Are you able to post the entire documentary because I can't find it anywhere

She is such a hoot!!!

@radicalclassic @Jabe88 You are both ridiculous. Henri Wilden is renowned for his performance in Lakme. If you knew anything about Opera you would know that. He is one of Australia's most respected tenors. He is far from hideous, but you however are rude and disrespectful.

I thank God every day that Dame Joan and I are in the world at the same time.

It certainly makes sense, ;-)
The tenor mopping his sweat on the costume I think is probably Pavarotti if they're talking about her I Puritani costume, HAHAHA.
