The church of St Andrew Rugby was massively extended in the Victorian era, and unusually they left behind the original tower which is this one. It contains a set of 5 bells, cast in 1711 on which these quarter chimes are played.

Apparently it is an unique tune?

Because of the two towers, Rugby ended up having the only church in the entire world to have two independent full circle change ringing peals!

  • The tune is unique. Does the bell tower play Westminster chimes also? If is does, can you post it?

  • The clock isn't like a mantel clock with selectable chimes! To get it to strike Westminster chimes would involve serious work. I think the clock itself is 18th century.
