Thought I'd make a video about how to make a multi gap staic spark gap for poeple wanting more out of there Tesla Coils....as i have seen some poorly built spark gaps...and very low streamer outputs on many coils....i kept this example very simple.....and this multi gap can be used with a muffin fan or blower for an even higher frequency distribution...R66DTesla...

  • By useing only a few gaps (2,3,4,5 Etc.) or all gaps you can tune your coil without ever changing gap sizes of the tubes ..Each added gap will add or remove .03125 "

( or what ever you space your tubes at ) to/from your overall gap.

  • Also when the time comes for cleaning the gaps you can simply soak the entire unit in a bath of baking soda and very hot water untill it comes clean ...R66D

  • Cool video.

you could cut a slot through the large tube...so that the gaps can be adjusted. by expanding or collapsing the large tube dia.

I may need help soon in tuning my coils.

  • Great idea and thank you for your comment !! R66D

  • The multi spark gap worked out well on a coil i have it on and made a very large output differance!!..... R66D

  • If you watch the video you will see that i have alotted for the holes in the pipes to be larger then the the bolts that go thru them so that there is some room for adjustments in the gaps ..R66D
