Caitlin Mackey-Mendez passed away tragically on July 14, 2009 in San Jose, Costa Rica. She was just 25 years old.
Caitlin was taken off life support after battling to stay alive due to lung failure. She had suffered from a years-long drug addiction, an addiction she had apparently overcome when she was blessed with her daughter Olivia.
Sadly, something triggered her one day and she disappeared from her job, only to turn up several days later at the Hospital Mexico in San Jose. She was able to tell her mom that she loved her and that she was sorry before slipping into a coma, never to re-awaken.
