Greetings,
Its another taping of the "Libertarian Perspective" we were scheduled to have candidate for US Senate Alex Snitker as our guest but he canceled due to health problems at the last minute due to health problems. So you have the usual suspects, me (Phillip Laibe) Doug Klippel, and our new incoming Chair for the Libertarian Party of Duval County Scott MacNaughton.
In this show we discuss multiple issues including the Tea Parties, "citizen legislators" vs "career politicians", the battle for US senate between Alex Snitker and Marco Rubio.
Of interest to me was how people chose to interpret the recent race between Scott Brown, Martha Coakley and Joe Kennedy in Massachusetts. The GOP machine has chosen to tout Scott Brown's victory as a referendum for small government and that it will stop the big government style healthcare reform bills. However, Scott Brown not only voted for the current government healthcare system in Mass but in his acceptance speech said " the campaign is over the people need a basic government healthcare plan that covers all people". You'll see that I am not on the same page as Doug and Scott who feel that Scott Brown will stop the healthcare bills. I think he will vote them in just as quickly as Martha Coakley. It seems that the voters of Mass were tricked into thinking that voting for Brown was somehow a vote for small government. The only small government candidate in that race was Joe Kennedy the Libertarian candidate.

We go into the parallels between that race and the upcoming Florida race for US senate. Marco Rubio who is a career politician/trial lawyer is trying to spin himself as the independent, small government, tea party, grass roots, etc. candidate. However, all of these adjectives actually describe Alex Snitker who is not a career politician and runs on a platform of term limits for congress.

For those of you who think that Rubio is not a part of the GOP machine think again, you don't raise almost a million dollars before even being declared the candidate without being an insider who is beholden to lobbyist. To say Rubio is for sale to the highest bidder would be untrue. He has already been bought and sold.

Alex Snitker can win but he needs your help. Please visit http://snitker2010.com/ today and donate to a true American patriot who will help to make America better by bringing congress back to a government run by citizens and based on the constitution.
