EDUARDO PINTO ENSAMBLE, Sudamerican Contemporary Instrumental Music Group, was created in 2006 by the distinguished musician from Mendoza (Argentina) Eduardo Pinto, passed away 7th January 2008 in a car accident in Uruguay. Currently the group consists of 9 players: Gabriel Núñez (piano), Gustavo Bruno (guitar), Rodrigo Botacaulli (bass), Eugenia Moreno (flute and piccolo), Diego Cortez (flute and vocals), Mariano Campanella (tenor sax), Pablo Contreras (percussion), Oscar Reta (percussion) and Octavio Pepe Sánchez (percussion); they try to continue the work that began with Eduardo Pinto years ago. This training has recently presented at the 3rd edition of the Music Festival (La Plata, Buenos Aires) and in the 6th edition of the Popular Music Meeting (Arts and Design School, National University of Cuyo, Mendoza). Previously, the ENSAMBLE had outstanding performances in Jazz & Pop Festival at Alameda (Mendoza 2006), Art Vintage Cycle (Guaymallén 2007), Americanto (Mendoza 2007), Independence Jazz (Mendoza 2007), St. Vincent Jazz (Godoy Cruz 2007) and in the 2nd edition of the Music Festival(La Plata 2007). In December 2007, were awarded with the Escenario Award, delivered by UNO Multimedia, under the JAZZ role. The next project is the presentation of the Ensemble's CD "Pinto" solo album that contains several topics that the group performs in their own versions, and in which Eduardo composed, arranged and played all the instruments.
