A better more comprehensive treatment of this topic is Brian Greene's book "The Hidden Reality". It's a more objective critique of the various MV types suggested by current physics. Ellis throws up a few straw men. e.g. Susskind would never claim that the Landscape MV is fact, as Ellis implies. And that the MV types were invented to support the anthropic principle when in fact they naturally emerge as consequences of existing theory. Furthermore some MV types are not beyond experimental testing.
