US Americans always think of England as being so similar to our country, that's why the differences seem so stark. I know the main reason this even freaked you out was because of the general lack of Iced Tea, if I ever go to England I'll first mentally prepare myself for the devistation that is life without iced tea. Also, no free refills? That's insane! I would be shocked too, no doubt.
