One of America's first post 9/11 hate crime murders punctuated a growing wave of violence in retaliation for the terror attacks. Told from the perspective of the victim's brother, A DREAM IN DOUBT travels to Mesa, Arizona to reveal a story of national tragedy, murder, community and the American dream.

A DREAM IN DOUBT premieres Tuesday, May 20 on INDEPENDENT LENS, a weekly series airing on PBS. Hosted by Terrence Howard, the acclaimed series showcases powerful and innovative independent films. Presented by ITVS, INDEPENDENT LENS is broadcast on PBS stations nationwide.

  • My condolences to the family of those two brothers. I hope that racist gets what he deserves. I hope a group of sardars goes medieval on his ass!!

  • i'm glad there's a documentary about this because as a south asian american (although i'm not a sikh, i'm a catholic) - i feel the injustice done to them... and i think often times most people don't understand the sikh religion and why they wear the turban.

everyone needs to be educated (americans and otherwise)... education = power and peace!

thank you pbs for helping the world be a better place!

  • this was an excellent documentary...except at the end (of the full lenth docu, not the clip here), there are 'western sikhs' who r not indian...they belong to a cult which is trying to exploit indians and spread false ideas. they call themself 3ho, and are connected to the famed 'hare krishna' cults from the 60's.
