The Catholic Campaign for Human Development continues to fund organizations that support abortion and same-sex marriage, despite the revelations and calls to cease such activity. American Life League highlights the past seven months of investigation into the CCHD funding practices, explains new revelations, and asks Catholics to sign the Reform CCHD petition at:

  • this is fake and that man is gay

  • Imagine this: you are a nice lady who always supported a woman's right to choose, saying"My body, my choice". You are old, helpless and dependent on others. You need help with your adult diaper. Just then, a nice young lady comes in to visit and help you. Do you A) scream "MY body, my choice" at her or B) say"Thank you for recognizing my PERSONal needs". As she helps you, you notice how much her BODY looks like yours did on the day you got an abortion years ago, leaving you sterile. PRO CHOICE

  • @jimfarrowloveI first learned about the situation with CCHD,in Nov.09', when someone EMailed me.Then sent out to people I knew.Someone who I sent it to,sent it to our Parish Admin.Well,he said it wasn't true, and sent this to all the people who I'd orginally sent the message to.I knew that what I sent was correct, but I didn't feel in a position to argue with my pastor. My point is every pastor,of his church is resp.to know where that money goes.Catholic Church get your act together.

  • I was raised Catholic and I support them supporting human rights.

  • @JohananRaatz

Ahhhh... I do see your point. You may be right.

  • @ClumsyRoot

Ok, no. What I'm saying is that we need some institutionalized religious cultural influence here as a salutory myth to maintain a well-managed society for sociobiological reasons. The law doesn't appear to reflect this, because doing so openly would break the power of the salutory myth and people would be like: "Hey? Why get married?" Places where gay marriage is recognized and the "Wizard of Oz" spell is broken also have high illegitimacy rates but very low birth rates overall.

  • According to the U.S. Code, marriage is "a legal union between one man and one woman as husband and wife." Whether or not said couple decides to have children is a separate issue. (Some married couples choose not to have kids; others are unable to.)

Certain religious groups may define marriage more narrowly (e.g., "for the production and rearing of future citizens"), but that's a religious definition, not a legal one.

Gender, not procreation, is the fundamental issue in this debate.

  • @iprazhm

True. I mean, look at the current pope--he apparently has no qualms about keeping child rapists in their jobs.

  • This is retarded! I don't want to pay child support or get married! They should give men the right to tell women to have abortions or just get rid of child support.

  • Stop giving money to the diocese until they stop supporting CCHD. Tell your Bishop. If they are corrupt - money will force their hand. Pray for the Bishops. They really need help.
