@karmalevel Robert Plant (singer) wrote the lyrics when him and Jimmy Page (guitarist) were driving through the Sahara Desert from Agadir to Sidi Ifni during their trip to Morocco in the early 70s even though Kashmir is in southeast Asia.

Basically, the lyrics were inspired by that experience.
