I've worked that same suitcase system with the Castoro Sei, including the mid-line Yokohamas. We used to catch the buoy at the quarter with a capstan wire, pull it in close, attach the tugger (led through the pins), let go the capstan wire and clear the deck. Simples! Nobody farting about at the stern roller with a 20-foot boathook.

Work hard., live even harder and learn to drive

Shoud have come in upwind boyo.
The crew do not die this way. I guess this was not a North Sea Skipper on the AHTS.
Learn the correct way of doing this. Its much safer.

@SuperJPK1 Always funny to see the reactions. Anyway, Capt. driving the boat has 30 year exp. incl North Sea and started out AH with Smit-Lloyd. Also this is not rigmove AH witch a buoycatcher but Pipelay barge AH, which simply means a "Suitcase system". Problem 1 slings jammed, problem 2 instable buoy due to too long pennant and to much floation of the buoy. problem 3 the weather. Anyway, we already had been for 15 minutes up wind without a problem but with jamed slings
