Hope You're Happy Working at McDonalds...

Grand Rapids Michigan is no longer giving F as grade in school. They say it lowers kids self-esteem. Instead they are going to give the letter H.

I wish people in charge of education would start worrying more about getting kids excited about learning, than what 'letter" they are putting on top of their tests!

I think we'd ALL be better off!!

A lot of schools are scared so shitless of having their funding taken away (thanks to No Child Left Behind) due to failing grades that they are very wary about giving them. I taught. Some of my colleagues in other schools were told that the lowest grade they could give on any assignment was 59% (the highest possible F), EVEN ones that were never turned in, which would normally be zero. This was entirely to bring up the school average to avoid the hammer of privatization.

@hooland1303 anything you get paid for is a "real" job, any who says it is is just dumb. It may not be the best job in the world, but you are getting paid for it. Jobs that are not real jobs are the ones that doesnt show any real work. Like prostituting, being a porn star, selling drugs, or stripping. Those are not real decent jobs. Mcdonalds is in a building under payroll, you serve customers, so its a real job. Doesnt matter the pay rate. Its not peoples buisness what you're paid

I think what he means is that he hopes we're happy working at McDonald's without furthering our education or going the extra mile to be able to make more money. Even at McDonald's you can advance your career, go to business school and become a store manager. I think that's his point, not that working at McDonald's PERIOD is miserable. Being in a minimum wage job forever is what's miserable. I know cause I have 2 jobs AND I go to college. And I want out of McDonald's haha
