I think Sean Hannity, O'Reily, and every *Christian Conservative* needs to watch this video.
Put up or shut up.

Got half a mind to set up a fake church and give sermons on the bits no other preacher dares to touch, but the other half says the congregation may actually follow them.

Good question. But I think Christian r realy not Christian of today. They expend billions of Dollars for celebrating Christmas but do they realy care about Jesus or r they do for fun. They have sex, dance, party, is those Jesus would like to do or simple he hates to do. Ask ur self.

@TaylorX04 Have you ever heard of the Jesus Christians? They take all of this stuff really literally. Ironically, their founder claims to not take the Bible literally. (He believes in the Old Quaker belief that Jesus, not the Bible, is the Word of God).

Weird that the camel is still going through the eye of a needle when many pointed out that it is a misstranslation/ -print of kamelos (rope) to kamilos (camel).
But hey: 100% true, eternal word of God - no big deal if you get the wrong version, right?

@KevinJ1live Original sin never happened. Humans were not created by magic in a garden. There was never a "First Man and Woman." We evolved over millions of years into what we are now. So just with that Jesus was pointless.
Sin is a word designated to show a breaking of gods laws. The god of the bible isn't real, so therefor neither are his laws. Again Jesus was unnecessary.
People are not sick just because they don't beat their children or silence their wives as the bible commands.

I cant tell whether you or supporting scripture hear or trying to condemn it!? but everything you said in this one was completely accurate. However, you must remember the church is like a hospital you don't go to a hospital if you are healthy but only if you are sick, Christ did not die for the righteous but instead died for sinners, imperfect people! If everyone was capable of being completely blameless than there would be no need for Christ!
-
@TalonyPoo Actually, you'd be blind and oblivious to this fact.

@LordSlag Hey now, you're gonna share the wealth, right?
Continued.... You are imperfect as well, So why are you so harsh in chastising other who are as you, imperfect?

@KevinJ1live This is an absurd question, especially for a Christian. If you consider yourself a fallen and sinful person, why do you advocate moral issues like not stealing, not killing, etc? Maybe it's because denouncing immorality is a greater cause than not being a hypocrite. Everyone makes mistakes, but if we are to therefore stop fighting for good causes, then all progress comes grinding to a halt. Truth rests on the evidence and arguments, not the character of those associated with it.

I find this interesting. I used to go to a church that would preach on giving up everything to become a Christian. However, I never saw anyone actually walk the walk. We all held on to our TVs, radios, vehicles, etc. I remember always feeling guilty about having stuff and it drove me crazy. I'm glad to finally have been freed from Christianity.

@nostikquest I've been to too many churches like that to count. One of them asked for every member of the congregation to give a few dollars each week so that they wouldn't have to let go of one of the staff. This was their idea instead of just selling one of the 3 jumbo screens that hung above the stage, displaying various pictures and scenes for "enhancing" worship services. Asking for money is no problem, but giving up luxuries is tough. Jesus would be proud, don't you think?

Your thesis is very well constructed but again, you're eliminating nuance. The apostles gave up only those things that were beyond their means. They still had enough money to eat and travel and preach and Judas was their treasurer so they obviously did not give everything up. I think St. John Chrysostom sums it up well when he said that all we have that is more than what is needed by us belongs rightfully to the poor. Basically, you must not sacrifice your basic needs (Matt 7:5).

@gambleor I don't recall ever arguing that the disciples or Christians have to sacrifice their basic needs.
