This is my Mach1 which shut off on me going down the road with sort of a surge feeling. After I stopped I tried to crank it over, It would crank over slowly like it was hard to turn, but wouldn't start. After two tries it started clicking as if the battery was dead. I then tried to jump the car off and it would just click once and not turn over AT ALL. I roll started it and it crunk right up with these sounds. I drove it about half a mile to my uncles house and parked it. Today ( a week later ) I cranked it back up for the first time to record this video for some general ideas or suggestions.

Please excuse the video quality and sound, The car isn't missing or loping or anything it's just the choppyness of the sound quality.

  • Yeah I had it tore down and it was a rod bearing also the crank was ate up pretty bad. I found a 2001 cobra motor and swapped in in with my intake.

  • Sorry to hear you lost the motor. Be sure to keep an eye out for the head issues with those (2001-2003 32V motors). The driver side has a TSB about tapping but not terminal. It has to do with the water jackets.

  • You need a rebuild. That is a wrist pin or rod. If it lets go your block is done.
