This is the first video posted on the People's Music Network Channel. It is fitting that it is a song written by Pete Seeger, an active member of PMN for many years, and someone who continues to be an inspiration to so many people. Rainbow Race also represents the spirit and purpose of the People's Music Network.
The performance you see in the video took place in New York City during Christmas time in 2009. It was the finale of the Water Not Weapons concert organized by Joel Landy and Phil Sauers, featuring activists and artists giving their time and energy to preserve a planet and the notion that we can live together in peace.
Artists included Ray Korona, Spook Handy, Joel Landy, Ken Gale, Pat Lamanna, Steve Suffet, Rachel Stone, James Cannings, Caitlin O'Heaney, Jay Byrd, Mary Popiins, Jenny Hurwitz, Talbot Katz, and Gloria Waslyn, with her "Parrots for Peace." Many of the performers are currently members of People's Music Network.
Enjoy the video. If you want to know more about PMN, you can visit the PMN website at www.peoplesmusic.org.
"I am now convinced that the world is going to be saved by people who refuse to use guns or bombs or poison gas and so on, and that will be a wide range of people in all sorts of places."
- Pete Seeger
The Parrots for Peace, avian activists believe that all the elementals need to enjoy the same inalienable right to purity as do all other forms of sentient life, people, animals and nature are part of one living system. Thank you to all the eco-performers that musically spread the spirit and word. Sending love to Pete Seeger as these seeds have been planted by his inspiration for Circles of Song to change minds and hearts.
