Sakineh reportedly confessed to the crime of adultery after suffering 99 lashes and now, Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, a mother of two living in Iran, is awaiting the execution of her death sentence.

She was convicted of adultery in 2006 in the northern city of Tabriz, and although she confessed after being whipped, her lawyer told CNN that she then retracted that confession and denied any adulterous act. The ruling was upheld in 2007 by Iran's supreme court.

she is being punished for the crime she has committed. why the west (the so called n so believed to be champion of freedom) fails to recognize that every human and nation is different. The whole world does not follow western values. Only the western values are not necessarily correct. West should learn to respect other cultures n other people's values. but it's a fact that this case is utilized by USrael. they take advantage of ashtiani...and, it are them who are vehement advocates of the death penalty. it are them who have no problem with political prisoners in the zionist camps and in USA (for example leonard peltier)
