@jag9998 I take it your original response was sarcasm then? My mistake
-
@dhaddox I don't see why it would. No one cares what language something is written in (unless of course they are a programmer, which I will assume to be the minority). The only thing people care about is 1) does it run smoothly on my computer, and 2) do I have to do anything to make it work? I will admit though, I probably have some propensity toward java because it's the first one I learned.

@jag9998 If Minecraft was written in python, it would have made twice as much money, so what's your point?
-
I'd say Java is the easy money maker. Minecraft was made with Java, and it made over $12million in the ALPHA version.
-
you can save python as exe

No, java is incredibly slow because of all the overhang. And minecraft made tons of cash because it's fun, not because it was in java

@TheIrelandish overhang? the word you are looking for is overhead. Also, java is plenty fast, comparable with c++ at this point. Yes, minecraft made money for its gameplay. Language was irrelevant.

um java is great but not every one has java i had to install it on windows and installing python is easy on every platform lso you got p2exe and py2app to make it so you dont need to install python i'm not saying python is best for games no one is but it is great to get started you learn concepts and then move on to stuff like java java is a great programming language and so is python im not sure what the problem is every one likes what they like

I've tried c++, java, and python, but which is better to use out of these 3?

@BeginnerBatchFile part 3: between java and python i would say whichever one you are more comfortable with. I honestly would lean towards python for you, check out pygame and check out panda3D. If you like java, java monkey engine and jgame looked good. Stay away from 3d games, you aren't ready for the matrix math required for them. The most important thing is that you program a lot and try new things. I suggest you start simple and build many small simple games, even text based ones.
