It is widely acknowledged that where a large amount of cash is exposed in the till drawer at the point of sale, the risk of opportunistic theft is at its highest. Whether the temptation comes from the cashier, or a till snatcher, historically the only way to ensure a proper defence against this type of shrinkage was to keep the quantity in the till at a minimum by performing time consuming till skims. This however, this invites a whole new set of risks; security of the staff whilst transporting the cash between the PoS and the cash office being the most concerning.

This video presents Volumatic's CounterCache Basic: A simple, robust and effective solution to prevent cash loss due to employee and customer theft. Its compact and discreet design allows it to be installed under most points of sale. As cash is tendered it is deposited into the CounterCache ensuring that only the till float remains in the till drawer. At the end of the day, the manager or supervisor collects the CounterCache from the PoS and transports it to the cash office, where a separate key is required to open the unit. The excellent presentation of the notes ensures that they can be counted with ease and speed.

There are over 1/2 a million CounterCache units globally protecting over $1 billion per day.
