This is so wrong. I am transsexual and I have a friend who is also transsexual. She goes to church 3 times per week and even conducts bible study and nowhere in the bible does it give another human or group the permission to do what this church did. God said, "Forgive them, oh Lord, for they know not what they do."
So, in summary, God is ok with anything that is reasonable and has purpose. The real problem is people who act inappropriately or in an ill informed manner in the name of religion.
