During the Detroit Auto Show, I had my first glimpse of the EFIJY, GM's tribute to Australia's 1953 Holden FJ. So, I didn't have to be asked twice if I wanted to ride along in this stunning vehicle at the equally stunning Tejon Ranch.

  • its so pathetic, they never build the good stuff.the lucky consumer will continue getting bland sedans with door handles or a raked windscreen that GM points out came from effigy!! I cant beleive people keep them in business.

  • Pesca--man, don't I know it! Concepts are such a tease at times--showing us what's possible, yet never really coming to fruition. Be sure to watch some of my videos from next week as I will get a once in a lifetime opportunity to visit GM's Heritage Center where they house their one of a kind concept vehicles as well as some antique and classic cars rarely seen by the public. I can't wait!!!!!

    Thanks for commenting!

  • this is a sick ass ride, i saw it a few months back, but unfortunately just a simple photo shot off a magazine.

  • Kroniee--I agree--it was too cool for school. I was so psyched to get to ride in it--bummed however not to drive it as it was having some linkage problems.

  • +1, highwayman7769....

  • Its called an "EFFY" not an "EFFERGY" !

  • For Fuck Sake! this is an Australian Motor Car! Designed and Australian Built IN AUSTRALIA BY AUSTRALIANS! and to have a fucking Yank to make out like they fucking Built it sounds Bullshit!

  • 645 hp !!

  • @shemassault

Soooo true. I'm right there with you.

  • You know what would work? If all those designers actually started DESIGNING cars and not jerk off. I know that safety is a huge factor here but if so, why don't we all drive fucking scrap cages with wheels? And I can't believe they wouldn't make this car safe, it is possible without turning it into an oblong with wheels. Such a beautiful car, people would go crazy over this. But nooooo let's have another copy-paste ford fiesta thingie. Fuck that! I want cars like Holden Efijy god damnit!

  • @zorlac774 You should look up the original; "1953 FJ Holden," which although takes some of its styling cues from American cars of the day, they are very Australian in their design. For perspective, look up the FX, FE, FC, FB, EK, EJ, EH, HD, HR, HK, HT and HG Holdens. These are model designations, as Australia only puts out a new model ever two years

  • @stu22aus She was never meant to go into production, the design team said that from the day it was unveiled. It so happened that it was the 50th anniversary of the FJ, so they combined it, with a car that brought more than its fair share of attention to Holden

  • @avonninja Funny you should mention that. Holden calls the colour "Soprano Purple." The design crew are all serious car nuts, and this was meant to be a "basement project; something they worked on in between other projects.

  • @nlikos2007 Unfortunately she's a one of a kind prototype, built to draw attention to Holden
