  • OOh yes! I vibrate with you, Julie - well said!

"No fear, only joy, be your own Guru"

  • @lineanette :-) thanks!

  • We know that vegans can lead healthy lives, but can they reproduce for many generations? As far as we know, it never happened. The optimal diet of a human being is obviously going to keep him fertile, so if veganism can't do it, it's a really strong argument against it. No culture in history has ever done it, therefore veganism is an experimental diet, and certainly not something to praise for its longterm health benefits. Longterm also means having good results for generations.

  • @tranquil87 yeah, good points. to some degree, it may be experimental. to another degree, there are people who are vegan, healthy, and have offspring who have offspring who are very healthy. and when people are sick from certain foods like meat and dairy, most of the time, they quickly become healthy on fruits and veggies. i think we just need to stay present and open and keep observing :-)

  • You started the video off by talking about how much we can learn from each person and then spent the bulk of the video diatribing about how Mercola is scamming people and contradicting himself and how Cousens is misleading people. If I was just going by your review and hadn't listened to them, it sounds like there wasn't anything to be gained from them. Any POSITIVE insights?

  • @passerby26 hey thanks for your thought.. i relate to certain people more than others. unfortunately i dont have time in the vids to share absolutely everything. with these people, i find they have a very devout following unwilling to look into the possibility that there are many contradictions, etc. so i chose to go into that. the main reason for responding is to encourage others to speak up and not fear their voice, even when a guru is the one speaking :-)... cont'd

  • @passerby26 pt 2... but yes, both of these people have contributed to getting people off refined foods, they support humane treatment of animals, etc. but for the purposes of the debate (which is where we can voice the things we do not agree with) i chose to point out more of the inconsistencies vs pat everyone on the back. nonetheless, i send both of these people all the love and success in the world and appreciate the energy they give :-)

  • Both Mercola and Cousens, among other gurus, creep me out.

  • @danielskipp1 and Paul Neilson has the audacity to say in his "confessional video" after confessing he is not 100% vegan that we "better start calling this 80% vegan or not true vegan" I was like speak for yourself you liar.

Before I DIGRESS, What is happening now is that the "meat addicted" masses are aware that vegan diet is healing and healthy, but they don't want to stop eating meat, Infact they are satisfied with the level of health they gain by going 80% vegan and 20%organic grass fed meat

  • @tranquil87 It never happened because veganism isn't a genetic trait. Asking me to prove veganism doesn't cause some bizarre genetic problem generations down the line is as silly as me asking you to prove that meat doesn't cause random miscarriages. Sure, anything's possible but I doubt it. I think what you're really saying is that you can't imagine life without meat and it scares you. Well then BOO! Vegans exist, sorry.

  • @RawHealingPatch

There are a couple of other people I would've liked to have seen: Aajonus Vonderplanitz and Paul Chek. Chek, to me, is the one of the preeminent people on the planet in terms of understanding total health: mind, spirit, nutrition, corrective exercise, etc. I think the answer at the end of the day is: do what works for you and that might take some experimentation. Although I respect and understand veganism, I think some of the arguments for it are ill-founded.

I, too, would've liked to have seen more of a traditional debate, including the chance to rebut each other. Kevin's thinking was there he didn't want some heavyweight bout arguing, but if people can't talk calmly and rationally about health without losing their cool, they're not really qualified to talk. I personally found Daniel Vitalis to have the most compelling arguments. It's true Mercola pushes products, but I just sift through that anyway and read the info.
