Excerpt from video/Video, Performance, Edit by Kathy Rose
Sound - Toshi Makihara, Kathy Rose,Studio assistant - Thessia Machado
Through my form of "self puppetry", I am exploring the identity of the artist and the process of creation. "Life in the Web" uses fabrics, figures, and miniature sets to create a perplexing irreality.Influences which have had an effect on me for this piece include the work of surreallist painter Remedios Varo, puppet animator Kihachiro Kawamoto, Andre Breton, the assemblages of Hannah Hoch, the supernatural world of the Japanese Noh theater and a fascination with dolls. web site www.krose.com

  • Gorgeous work, I'm studying Hannah Hoch's work for my final assignment and it's interesting to look at how you can make a 'moving' photomontage! Fantastic stuff!

  • great work !
