I heard that Nigeria has a huge emergence of mobile devices. While at the same time many people don't have electricity or access to stable electricity. Instead people are starting businesses where you can charge your mobile device all around rural areas that lack power by using several car batteries or generators to produce power. This is a great case study on how rural third world cities are taking off with ICT with minimal power/communication infrastructure.
Fascinating. He dropped lots of examples of the city korea, sidney and other countries where they are making huge progress towards these effecient communities. Does anyone know where we can find links these examples?

Of all the Web 2.0 Summit presentations this is by far one of the most inspiring. It is one of those that get you to think of possibilities.
