KFI's Bill Handel and Lara Hermanson Apologize over Armenian Genocide Comments

On May 13th, 2009, Bill Handel and co-host Lara Hermanson of KFI 640 AM made racist and grossly offensive statements about Armenians, going so far as to suggest, "What the Turks started, Bill will finish."

Following weeks of pressure, a formal apology was issued both on video and on the air (this one, from June 12, 2009). In addition, Lara Hermanson has agreed to do community service with an Armenian organization.

I have listened to this show for several years, usually while commuting to or from work. While I have to admit that KFI makes its money with the Bill Handel Show, he definitely comes across as a complete asshole at least several times each week. Not only does he seem to relish the negative attention he receives and loves the email complaints, it is interesting to know that he cannot handle being on the other end of it himself.

His would be a great late-night, weekend show; not a prime slot gig.

Bill Handel is the funniest person on radio. He saw the true face of the 20th century and chose to become a mockery of it. Like Alan Moore's Comedian. It's all a joke.

Bill Handel's brother is Mark Handel aka Khan Tusion of blackcrackaddicts fame. I wonder how if Mark and Bill cruise the street together looking for poor white girls who'll let their faces get rammed into a black dudes asshole for a couple hundred bucks. Cool guys, those Brazilian Handel bros.
