Emm.. no. They will not necessarily die. I played a speedrun with the bots and surprisingly two of them managed to catch up.
And besides, it will make no difference if you kill them. The only difference is that there will be no one to save you from accidental incapacitation.

WTF, how come you didn't face the two tanks on the finale?
Great speedrun, but you really chose the wrong location to fight off the zombies on the finale. A better place would be the spot where the boat comes.
