i brought this particular woman and when i played this song she made sweet love to me and then she started to shoot at me i'm glad she couldn't shoot.but her mother met a man like that and her mother was treated like a low down woman she was. but other than that i love that song

I like the Dead's version a lot better with Pigpen but nothing tops Otis's voice.

The Toots & The Maytals version comes close. I agree that no one can top Redding on his own song - but if there's anyone with an equally-"soulful" voice, it's Toots "Reggae got Soul" Hibbert.

I love the crows, but no one can top otis. This is a little slower, has more soul/funk to it. Plus Otis's tone is unbeatable.
