Updated Note (10/08/08): I have given permission for this video to be used on http://playingtabs.blogspot.com/.

Updated Note (4/4/08): I used to only play barre chords; then, when I started liking the Stripes, I took to playing power chords, but still kept calling them barres out of habit. The B that I play in the video is a B Power Chord (X244XX).

As I say in the video, I call this my 'Campfire Version' of Seven Nation Army. It's a passable version of the song--it's not accurate--to play for a group of friends when there's a guitar around and someone asks 'Does anyone know Seven Nation Army?' You don't need barre chords (except one), and the first position chords are passable enough that everyone can sing along to the song and have some fun.

If you're new to guitar and can move pretty smoothly between the basic chords, then you shouldn't have any problems impressing your friends with this one.

A-String Frets:
7-7-10-7-5-3-2

Chords:
E-E-G-E-C-B
E-E-G-E-C (lift/replace middle finger)-B
End of riff back to verse: G-A

  • Good stuff, thanks !

Even more of a breakdown would be usefull tho, especially on the strumming.

  • @TheDjeff7 Thanks. I have a strumming tutorial for this, too. ;)
