This beautiful vals is a great beginner piece that presents no insurmountable technical difficulties. Primarily in the first position, it expands gently into the fifth position during the second and third sections without the necessity of maintaining a full barre chord; which tends to give the beginning guitarist difficulty. The added bonus for beginning players is the introduction of the glissando on the d string during the third section. Sometimes glissandos on the wound (bass) strings are easy to perform than their counterparts on the unwound (treble) strings, merely by ringing louder.
As all guitarists know the wound strings squeak during long changes of position and this takes advantage of that side effect.
I also choose to repeat each section to add some length to the piece. The music I learned the piece from has no repeats.
