I was concieved in Dallas, born in Tulsa, mother's family has ranched in West Texas since the 1880's. When I was a kid bouncing back and forth from our ranch in Oklahoma and in Texas I had a friend who had moved from San Marcos to Oklahoma. They introduced me to Jerry Jeff, Rusty, and Gary P. Nunn when I was probably 6 or 7 years old. From then on I knew where I belonged. Glad to have been back after a short stint in New Mexico....
Hi Y'all! I was lucky, as a "damn Yankee!" in Austin to have played bass for Rusty in the mid-80s before I re-joined the USAF as an officer. Will Indian et. al. are to blame!!. Rusty taught me how to lead a band. I used that knowledge in Cheyenne with Pat, Chris, Mark J., Monty, and Tex to make "Mister Coffee and the Grounds for Divorce." I'll not soon forget playing with Rusty and meeting ALL of his dear friends. There will NEVER be another like him.
my father took me to see rusty many times growing up i just wish i could do the same for my son if there is youtube in heaven we miss you rusty the miller family

I saw Rusty at The Rail Head in Dallas about 25 years ago. He chatted with me on his break, just a friendly, nice guy. RIP, Rusty. Love ya, man.
