Coming along nicely. That front end will be tight and safe. Brings back childhood memories. I too watched and help my Dad replace king pins. Rich

That is a thing of beauty!

yeah, I want to do that but this is a temporary set up. I'm not going to drive it much with this old frame. I'm thinking next winter I will build a frame and then do all the fancy cross members and drop it and all.. right now, I just want it to NOT fall apart! haha

What style of cross member were you thinking of? I am a big fan of doing K-members over just a U shaped piece of tubing. K-members seem to help out with handling and ride especially when your running leafs at all four corners.

Man, I don't know who the hell they think they are but those machine shop prices are ment to turn people away. They can't possibily be for real if they really want work.
My grandfather taught me how to rebuild these when I was 14 on a '50 GMC pickup he had.

same here, was about 14 helping my dad on his old 48 chevy pickup. he used to put the king pins in the freezer to shrink em. then they would go in easier! I'm 58 and I've always remembered that for some reason.
